Natalie Greenwood
Since joining Hextalls in 2017, Natalie has focused her work on travel personal injury litigation, specialising in accidents occurring outside the jurisdiction acting for foreign insurers and claims under the Package Travel Regulations. Natalie has experience in cross border medical negligence litigation and complex brain injury cases. Natalie is currently handling three conjoined cases proceeding to the Court of Appeal on the issue of Spanish penalty interest. Natalie also has experience in the recovery of a tour operator’s outlay from its supplier in a foreign jurisdiction.
Natalie’s work highlights include:

Defending a brain injury of the utmost severity that occurred following an accident in Spain. The claim was discontinued a few days before the liability trial was due to commence.

Successfully challenging a foreign accident claim on the basis that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter and obtaining a wasted costs order against the claimant’s solicitors.

Defending a high value cross border clinical negligence claim at trial.

Defending claims against a tour operator in Cuba and Spain.

Defending a cross boarder claim (leg amputation). Achieved a settlement for less than 10% of the pleaded value.
Natalie also has experience in defending employer liability and public liability claims, including physical assaults within the care sector and abuse claims.
